30 Years of Providing Academic Excellence to Northern New Jersey

Kumon’s Teaneck Branch Celebrates Milestone Anniversary

– Year-after-year, New Jersey schools rank near the top in the nation in student achievement. Recognizing the value placed on education throughout the state, Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading program, established its east coast presence in Fort Lee back in 1986. Today, the Teaneck Branch of Kumon North America celebrates its 30th year bringing academic enrichment to thousands of children across Northern New Jersey and New York.

Located within the Kumon North America headquarters based in Teaneck, the company’s Teaneck Branch has supported the growth of 64 Kumon Math and Reading Centers throughout the region. Kumon Centers in the region currently provide approximately 12,000 children in preschool through high school with the skills needed to compete in today’s world.

“We continue to prove our commitment to helping children reach their potential and that’s evident in the tremendous growth we’ve experienced in Northern New Jersey and New York over the past 30 years,” says Caroline Rostkowski, Teaneck Branch Manager at Kumon North America. “As the demand for Kumon continues to increase, our goal remains to offer high-quality education for our communities.”

Kumon’s first U.S. office opened in Los Angeles in March of 1983. As success and demand continued to grow, Kumon North America opened its headquarters in Fort Lee in 1992 and eventually relocated along with the Teaneck Branch to its current location in Teaneck in September of 1995. The two have shared the same office for 21 years. As of today, there are about 500 employees who work at either the corporate headquarters or at one of the Kumon North America regional branch offices throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
