Former Teacher Sets Out to Become Pillar in Hanover Community

Kumon of Hanover Aims to Spark Love of Learning in Students

Vanessa Cheng

– In the seven years Vanessa Cheng spent as an elementary school teacher, she had the opportunity to teach several grades across many subjects. She was deeply fulfilled by making connections with hundreds of children in her classes. One of the key aspects of the job she enjoyed was parent communication – a concept she began to appreciate much more after becoming a mother to her daughter. Vanessa eventually found herself wanting to work with students and their families in a different capacity and decided to explore becoming a Kumon Franchisee. She learned of Kumon years ago from friends, and enjoyed that unlike constantly evolving school curriculums, the Kumon Math and Reading Program has remained stable in its method. As the new Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Hanover, Vanessa has high hopes to continue to inspire students in the Hanover community.

“After teaching for several years in the school system and working with children for an extensive period of time, I would never be able to leave them,” said Vanessa Cheng, Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Hanover. “Becoming a Kumon Instructor enables me to continue building relationships with students while using the Kumon Method to help them succeed.”

Becoming a Kumon Franchisee is an attractive business opportunity for many aspiring entrepreneurs with a passion for education.
